Curriculum

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary Baulkham Hills South provides a relevant and challenging curriculum for all students.

We encourage and foster skills that allow students to learn independently, think critically and make responsible decisions.

A key strategy in quality education is the professional development of our teaching staff and the regular evaluation of teaching practices and programs.

We follow the NSW Education Standards Authority approved curriculum in the Key Learning Areas of Mathematics, Science and Technology, English, Human Society and its Environment, Creative and Practical Arts, Personal Development, Health and Physical Education.

There is also focus on technology, sports, creative arts, dance and music. The following programs enrich the work being undertaken in the Key Learning Areas:

  • in-class support for the Key Learning Areas
  • a Personal Learning Plan for children with individual identified learning needs
  • provision of Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) specialist intervention.
  • differentiating the curriculum for gifted and talented students, where appropriate
  • provision of the Reading Recovery program
